Before we talk about this company, the products, and even a business opportunities! So, I want to get into health a little bit. I want to know what wellness is. I don’t know exactly why, but it is a broader concept that encompasses several important areas and vital factors, which I believe is significant, but…
The Dictionary.com defines wellness as:
1. the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort.
2. an approach to healthcare that emphasizes preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to emphasizing treating diseases.
…and this sounds logical.
But when we look at the National Wellness Institute’s definition:
“Wellness is an active process through which people become aware of, and make choices toward, a more successful existence.”
These three large groups, health, well-being, wellness-mind(ful)-thinking, are connected. And should be taken care of. The other way, treating illness only after it appears, is much worse! Sure, everyone can be sick on their long living way, and infections occur, and also accidents of various kinds happen.
to proactive wellness and conscious living (maintaining daily health through intentional habits). It marks a shift from autopilot habits to mindful self-care
This definition describes a shift from unconscious living – where you do not think about your health until you have a problem or experience symptoms – to conscious living – where you are actively making healthy choices to promote your success and wellbeing.”
That’s a lot scarier. Wellness and health don’t seem to go hand in hand, not even close friends. Dictionary Thesaurus common synonyms for wellness include health, well-being, fitness, and healthiness.
To take it even further, well-being is interpreted as the state of being comfortable, healthy, and happy. It goes beyond the mere absence of disease or illness, representing a complete, balanced condition of physical, mental, emotional, and social health in which a person can thrive, cope with stress, and realize their potential. Emotional stability and ability to manage everyday stress. But I don’t know; stress affects both the mind and the body. A little bit of stress is good, yes, and helps us get things done. Stress responses help your body adjust to new situations and can help us perform daily activities. Too much stress, however, is not good and can cause us physical and mental health problems.
What am I trying to say with this? Yes, that today’s society is a “stress society”, we live in it every day, and of course it has gotten worse over time? How am I going to make ends meet, find a new job, or manage two jobs to make ends meet? What if I get sick?
Wars in large parts of the world, famine, drought, extreme heat or floods, forest fires, tsunamis and other major disasters. It is clear that we get stressed, worried in any case. What kind of world are we leaving to our children? Can I afford to let my kids go to college, etc.?
WHO defines stress as a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation. Stress is a natural human response that prompts us to address challenges and threats in our lives. Everyone experiences stress to some degree.
I know that stress can be good, but then in moderate proportions. I have often worked against so-called deadlines, and it can be stressful, but I also got creative and solved the problems that could arise along the way.
With this I want to say (overall), that we leave that subject (and other physical and mental subjects), to health@Thunderroad.
